Pride & Prejudice director Joe Wright attended the New York Comic-Con Saturday (October 9th) with the two lead stars (Saoirse Ronan and Eric Bana) of his upcoming new teen assassin flick, Hanna (from Focus Features, whose Academy Award nominated films include P&P and Atonement both directed by JW and starring Keira Knightley). Joe Wright and two of his Hanna actors' Ronan and Bana had a panel at NYCC and discussed the new film in the Q&A moderated by IGN as well as showed the first footage/clips of Hanna and mentioned that The Chemical Brothers will provide the score for the entire film. Also, JW responded to a question from First Showing, saying he secured the big beat titans to provide a more “modern beat” to Hanna. The first clip (which featured temp music; the final film will have a score by the Chemical Brothers) shown started with Blanchett answering the phone, only to hear a series of tape recordings manipulated by Bana. While she's talking to Bana's character on the phone -- or thinks she is, because it's actually still a recording -- a gunshot blasts through the door and takes out her partner. She grabs her gun and fires several shots through the door, but Bana manages to kick his way through the door. As Blanchett sits on the ground, clutching her gun, she tells herself, "Move!" And by the time Bana is in the room, she's gone… with only an open window left to indicate where she's gone.
The second clip has Hanna, off screen at first, talking to an interrogator of some kind. He looks directly into the camera as he speaks. When we finally cut to Hanna, she's in prison garb and is incarcerated in some kind of cell, surrounded by cameras. In a separate room, Blanchett is watching her on monitors. Hanna asks to speak to Blanchett. Eventually, someone dressed up to resemble Blanchett enters the cell to talk to Hanna. Blanchett feeds her information through an earpiece in order to convince Hanna that she's the real thing. Hanna begins to cry, and hugs the woman tightly. Guards enter the cell to abort the interrogation, and Hanna suddenly -- in a burst of perfect violence -- breaks the woman's neck and takes out the guards, the lights and the cameras.
