The grounds to resist Gregory Lewis's appeal at Employment Appeal Tribunal, include a claim that equal opportunities & monitoring of staff and students by racial group are not the responsibility of the HR officer at New College,it is the responsibility of Oxford University. They claim this the reason that she had no clue about equality laws. During proceedings we complained about their covert monitoring of Gregory which went against Oxford Uni guidelines (As well as the Data Protection Act). Their defense to that was that they are autonomous and as such do not have to follow Oxford Uni guidelines. They want it all ways and I am sick of the BS. I have already spoken to an Equality Officer at Oxford Uni & she told me that individual colleges are responsible for the specific duties under the RRA (amendment) 2000, now I have requested it in writing.
