Casting News: Rosamund Pike in talks to star in "The Godmother"

According to ThePlaylist, Rosamund Pike (Photo by Samir Hussein/Getty Images Europe) along with Inglorious Basterd's Diane Kruger are in early talks to star in The Godmother.

The Godmother is an adaptation of Carrie Adams novel of the same name and follows Tessa, the childless serial godmother of the title, as she grapples with the problems of her friends, while questioning her no-strings-attached lifestyle.

Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) is attached to direct from a script penned by Oscar-winning writer Ron Bass (My Best Friend’s Wedding).

Unanimous Pictures will produce with filming expected to start around mid-Summer 2011 for an aim of a 2012 release.

Speaking of RP, check out this very nice and fun to read, new interview of her: Rosamund Pike’s Hundred-Year Plan from Blackbook Magazine...very interesting read!

Plus a nice mention about RP from her Barney's Version co-star Paul Giamati from his recent LA Times interview: Contender Q&A: Paul Giamati
For such an unhappy man, he marries amazing women. Did you have a hand in casting?

I was auditioning these women, and they said, "Oh, yeah, there's this woman Rosamund Pike we're thinking about," and I said, "What do you mean, 'Oh, yeah, there's this woman'? Just cast her!" I have a mad crush on her and have been weirdly obsessed with her for 10 years since I saw her in James Bond ("Die Another Day"). I've gone to England to see her plays. I don't have this thing where I'm dying to work with a lot of people, but she's one of them.
