Ajay Devgn is an Indian actor who was originally born as Vishal Veeru Devgan on 2 April 1969. Ajay is one of the main stream actors in Bollywood today. Here is a bio of Ajay.
Ajay was born in New Delhi to Veeru Devgan a stunt choreographer and his wife Veena Devgan, a film producer. His brother Anil Devgan is a film director. He did his graduation at Mithibai College. He started his film carrier with Phool Aur Kaantay (1991) for which he earned a Filmfare Best Debutant Award. Next he worked in Jigar, Ek Hi Rasta and Platform in 1992 and 1993. He was then nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Naajayaz and Diljale which came in 1995 and 19996 respectively. In 1997 he starred for the first time in a comedy film Ishq which was a huge success. Next year he was seen in hits Major Saab and Pyar To Hona Hi Tha, his third film in the same year was Zakhm for which he won a lot of critical suppor and a prestigious National film Award for Best Actor. He then went on to star in noteable films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Kachche Dhaage both of which released in 1999.

During 2000-2001 most of his films were box office failures. During this spam of time he also starred in Raaju Chacha, his first production in which he worked with his wife Kajol and Lajja, a film for which he won a nomination for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.
Year 2002 proved quite luck in favor of Devgn. He first starred in Company, a film which was fictional exposure of Mumbai Underworld. For the film he won a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor and a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. The film fared well at the box office. He then starred in Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahin later same year opposite Aishwariya Rai. His next release of that year was biopic “The Legend of Bhagat singh”. The film failed to do well at the box office but Devgn won a second National Film Award for Best Actor. He then was seen in a negative role in “Deewangee” for which he won Filmfare Award for Best Villain. His first release in 2003 was Bhoot, a fantasy film which did very well at the box office. His next film “Qayamat: City Under Threat” was a huge commercial success. He again won a Filmfare Best Actor Award nomination for his work in Gangaajal.
He then was casted in Khakee (2004) which was a big commercial success. Later that year he was seen in Masti, Yuva and Raincoat. His most of the films in 2005 were flops except for Apharan and Kaal. For Kaal he won nominations in National Film Award for Best Actor and Filmfare Award for Best Actor and for the later he was nominted for Filmfare Award for Best Villain.
In 2006 he was seen in two of highly successful films Golmaal and Omkara. After a couple of flops he then starred in Blockbuster Golmaal Returns(2008). In year 2010 he gave four super hit films Atithi Tum Kab Jao Gay, Raajneeti, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and Golmaal3. His 2011 film Singham was also highly successful.
In 2008 he also directed a film called U, Me Aur Hum. Following Ajay’s spectacular film journey he is considered as one of the most established actors of Bollywood today.
