♥ monday ♥

I didn't make any drawings today because I was preoccupied with being ill. I stayed in bed til late this morning, the light was still left on so I must have been tired- I never sleep with the light on. I need another big bottle of botanical strawberry and aloe vera spring water, it was probably the best thing I've bought this past week. I still have some left, can't bring myself to throw it away.

♥ I watched Hallam Foe this morning, it was weird and I especially hated the whimsical little title animation where the little bird starts eating up all sorts of nasty little things. I didn't like that. I found some more pearl earrings today though which made up for it. I'm going to order some more tea- some english breakfast tea. I had earl grey earlier while I was waiting in the chair that I can't curl up in.
I have my new brief which I haven't really looked over yet, but it doesn't seem that complicated. Matt bought me a lovely hello kitty with a pink dress and pink bow I've wanted for a while now. And he gave it me this afternoon. That cheered me up. Ness gave me a lovely tin sign that says 'Cheer Up Honey Pie' I keep smiling everytime I look at it- it's magic, it really works! I need those kinds of little things in my life, they mean alot to me.

♥ old fools project illustration ♥ twenty tiny fingers illustration ♥ jollity farm illustration
♥ I hate living here right now- I want to take Matt and move out to somewhere that has a bath and sash windows. That's all. And a little study to do my work in at a proper desk. That would be good. The computer is a monster it takes over and I just can't cope with a little tv table anymore.
♥ I'd really like to sleep in this tonight

♥ And then slip these shoes on and do the housework tomorrow morning

♥ but i can't stand in heels

♥ Period Day ♥

Yesterday was all about the period films- first I brought myself to watch The Other Boleyn Girl, which I've had for a while now but never thought about really watching it. I even bought the book thinking (stupidly) that I'd actually read the book and then watch it, which was pretty naive. I knew I wouldn't- but I managed to watch the film- then through some sort of weird coincidence Elizabeth was on Film Four later that last night so some of the questions that hadn't been answered were tied up. I was going to bring out my copy of Elizabeth the Golden Age- but that would be taking it too far.
Something that puzzled me were these outfits that the lovely Boleyn sisters wore- matching, yes but they look too heavy and not in the acceptable way that the embellished gowns they wore were.

I absolutely love the Anna Scholz lingerie range- I'm hoping to get some of this lovely stuff for christmas, reminds me of the gorgeous fifties style underwear that you can actually get curves into.
I bought some lovely bargains from Topshop today- the dress I was upset about yesterday I managed to snap up along with a few sparkly hair adornments.

Oh and Pink's new album is on my shortlist for next week. It's looking good just from the album art which is right up my street- all circusy and rebellion but with a twist of girliness.
I'm really not liking my local HMV at the moment- they're petty with their scarce distribution of student cards and the little power they have has gone to their head. Maybe I'll go elsewhere for ALL of my Christmas shopping. Norwich is always really nice and they don't give you a hard time. Now I'm off to use some of my lovely Coconut Ice Cream Body scrub, it's the only thing that's not tainted

♥ iridescent sparkles

Since being quite poorly I thought I'd post some things that have cheered me up these past few days. Tuesday night I watched My Bluberry Nights with Matt in the flat all wrapped up and then we had some leftover chocolate torte- yes I know it wasn't blueberry pie and homemade vanilla icecream but it did sort of fit in with the theme. I liked the soundtrack so maybe I'll buy it in January when I have enough money.

This is a sample of one of the shirts I've been wanting to get from Norwich when I go again, to wear with some comfy black jeans that I already have and it'd be perfect as there's no loose sleeves to get in the way of drawing and making things as I do this everyday. Artbox have got some gorgeous stuff on their website and there's a little shop up Steep Hill that sells all these little artbox nicknacks and other lovely little things that prove hard to find. It has a little blue door and blue windows and Me and Ness can't resist popping in there to have a little peak whenever we have a spare five minutes ( or in our case a spare afternoon!) I'm in the middle of designing a sublte little card to congratulate Ness on moving to a new house and being all lovely and grown up.

It's breaking my heart that there's so many pretty dresses at the Topshop online sale and they're only size 6 or 8 or worse Out Of Stock, three little words I hate. They make me all tearful. I don't think am gonna post any now that I like. Shoes, perhaps? Shoes are a safe option but all the ones that fit as the magic slipper seem to disappear from sight too- I think I should maybe order some Irregular Choice ones in the New Year and that shall be my New Year's resolution- to walk in heels! To grin and bear it! However ridiculous that may sound. There were some beautiful Cinderella glass slippers I found on a fancy dress website- quite cheap, but decent for a night out when I want to feel all princessy, like am in fairytale. It's a healthy medicine.

Films of the moment that have been helping me get through being all tucked up in bed and sniffly are: The Little Mermaid- that has been a strong favorite since I was very little, I love it, it never ceases to disappoint me.

Ever After- this is such a lovely film, but it's an acceptable fairytale that dips in to Cinderella but because you've got the lovely Drew Barrymore it seems abit more grown up and you don't have to come up with excuses like why you wish you were there and wearing that fantastical ball gown with all that lovely iridescent glitter.

To try and get my sense of smell back I bought a nice little pot of solid fragrance called American Cream from my local Lush shop- I couldn't resist! It's just a little vanilla dream all whipped up in a pot and I have the conditioner! Ohhh smells gorgeous! It makes me feel so much better.

♥ handed in the biotechnology illustration yesterday. it's a book of fawn girls but didn't turn out like i wanted. redo natasha!

♥ could do with another night out, but want ness to come too :(
