Hi Ram,
My employer company is smaller one, 15 only.

I am planning to go with bigger consulting firm so that they can market me well and .....

Dude what are you talking about? The only thing that is linked to Feb 15 is that provision that IV is proposing for 485 filing/H1B increase.

spoke to the lawyer and they said they have experience last month of filing a I485 similar to mine at Nebraska and had no issues.
So I guess I will have to trust them and see. She also mentioned 2 yrs is the time for follow to join not 180 days.

I have waited long enough to say that. Came to USA and pursued a career in Traffic Engineering. Now I can't even find jobs in India because, many say that my job is advanced for India right now.
Make sure you do a masters in some field in which you can find opportunities in India.

We need a few catchy words to put in a community newsletter. This is for people who don't know about IV. It has to be something that will make people click on the text and come to IV website.
Here are a few suggestions I have got so far:

Even in India some of the southern states dont like speaking in Hindi. In India, it is all about showing off, if your kid is here in US (as a slave on H1 B), Badi garv ki bat hai in India, dollar mein paisa banara hai na, isliye. The trend is more in AP (by the way i am from AP), where almost every family has one or more living and earning in phorein currency. As long as the native country cannot produce jobs for all (without reservations) and a decent standard of living, people will steal, lie, deceive, kill to come here to the US, and i guess they don't mind waiting for 20 yrs living as bounded slave, after all it is better here than the slum's isn't it ?

And for your information, if any posts (In Hindi) are valuable, people of other nationalities will learn Hindi to gain knowledge out of those posts. This is called RFE. If it's the "BIG RFE"
they are nowadays asking for pretty much EVERY SINGLE PIECE of RECORD for past 3 yrs.
All wage reports for ALL Employees, W2s for All employees, Client letters,
Tax returns and whatever else they can think of. If you've gotten one of those BIG RFEs . then it may take some time

When my spouse started working using EAD, my employer told us that they cannot renew her H4 since she had already started using her EAD; also my employer renewed only my H1 and H4 for my minor son.
I suggest you to contact a good attorney to know what you should do now.

Simply and bluntly put
IV is we. If you are not there , there is no IV. We are in agony and pain. let us scream so high that even deaf may lend their ears.
What is at stake is you career. We have every thing to loose by doing nothing. I know, I have lost a whole lot. Probably I were better off moving to India after my MBA. I might have been doing much better there. But I am at the point where I cannot let got without trying. Have you reached that point yet?
Here is my personal story, if you think you can do better here without the Green Card. Think again! I have been slogging in this mess since 1999, even though I have world class qualifications (Full time MBA from a top US school, several years of work experience, PMP and marching toward CFA). All this are futile , if I don't have that stupid work permit with out any strings attached (Green Card)
Yes I do have EAD. But it is full of restriction. At least let us work together to remove that restriction..
I don't want any freaking loosers. Loosing is their nature. I want winners to work with me. Are you the one?

because of personal reason I was not able to devote much time to IV recently ... will be involved more now onwards ...

I Agree it is better not to take risk. But why is this an issue after 3 years of working from home. Next question is If I ask my lawyer not to renew my H1B and only work on EAD does DOL have an issue ? is that risk worth taking. Moving my family entirely for this reason is not a good option.

Unfortunately, this is the fact in our country. But the thing is he will get it by spending Rs.100 - Rs.200. Here, after spending $10,000 legally for GC..it is nowhere in sight.

My H1 has been denied on Master's quota as I filed for H1 in April and I graduated in May. The reason for denial is that "on notice day, I was not graduate'.
My EAD will be expiring in May 2008 and even If I apply for New H1 in next April, I can not start working till October 2008.
In this bad situation, what are the option I have not to leave the country. Please advise as soon as possible
You can go to school again though it might not be practical. Or go back to your country and ask the employer to sponsor your H-1B so you can reenter in October 2008.
Also, check with other lawyers.

call the attorney who is working on your case and ask if it's a good idea to go...
You will be surprised...Most attorneys are of the opinion that this rally is important and people who are impacted by EB GC dealys should meet with lawmakers to discuss the issue.
