The first trailer has just been released today for Fox Searchlight's The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel starring , Bill Nighy, , Tom Wilkinson, Celia Imrie, Dev Patel and Maggie Smith. Directed by John Madden (Shakespeare In Love) and based on a British best-seller from “Tulip Fever” author and “Pride & Prejudice” screenwriter Deborah Moggach, the film boasts a lineup of veteran actors with a story centering around an entrepreneurial Indian executive who decides to start up a first-rate home for elderly British retirees.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel opens in theaters March 9, 2012.

Synopsis

THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL follows a group of British retirees who decide to “outsource” their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India. Enticed by advertisements for the newly restored Marigold Hotel and bolstered with visions of a life of leisure, they arrive to find the palace a shell of its former self. Though the new environment is less luxurious than imagined, they are forever transformed by their shared experiences, discovering that life and love can begin again when you let go of the past.
