is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood films. He is also a trained dancer.Shahid Kapoor was born on February 25, 1981 in Mumbai, India. His father Pankaj Kapoor was an actor and his mother Neelima Azeem was an actress and classical dancer.

He spent the greater part of his life with his mother, but he also had a great relationship with his father and stepmother Supriya Pathak. Shahid has two siblings, a sister Sana and a brother Ishaan Kapoor. His brother is also an actor; the two starred in the film ˜Vaah! Life Ho to Aisiâ together.

Shahid Kapoor began his theater life career starring in music videos and commercials. One of his most noted commercials was an ad for Pepsi, which featured Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji.

After this, Shahid decided to join the Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts. He made his debut in 1999 in the film ‘Taal’ as a background dancer. Shahid would have to wait until 2003 for his first most important role, but it was well attraction the wait.

From 2004 to 2007 Shahid Kapoor dated fellow Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor. The two have since separated but stay on good terms.

Starting off his career by working in music videos and advertisements, Kapoor made his Bollywood debut as a background dancer in Subhash Ghai's Taal (1999). Four years later, he made his first appearance as a lead in Ishq Vishk (2003) and won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for his presentation. Following through with films like Fida (2004) and Shikhar (2005), he had his first commercial success with Sooraj R. Barjatya's Vivah (2006), and followed it up with Jab We Met (2007) and Kaminey (2009) which are also his biggest commercial successes so far.

In 2010, Kapoor appeared in Ken Ghosh's film Chance Pe Dance opposite Genelia D'Souza, As of April 2010, Kapoor has completed filming for Satish Kaushik's Milenge Milenge, which released on July 9, 2010.
