When director Anurag Basu spotted the 18-yr old Kangana Ranaut with her unusually curly hair at a Mumbai café, he would scarcely have believed that she would carve a niche for herself in the industry. The actress had previously been working as a model in Delhi and later shifted to working in the theatre. The moment Anurag Basu chose her as the female lead in 'Gangster,' her rise to stardom had begun.

She received rave reviews for her performance in her debut, including winning a Filmfare Award for the Best Debutante. From then on, offers have kept coming her way. She later followed it up with 'Woh Lamhe' and was signed again by Basu for 'Life in A Metro' which was again successful and her performance was acclaimed. This was followed with a string of hits like 'Fashion', 'Raaz- the Mystery Continues' and 'Tanu Weds Manu' which established her popularity as a bankable actress.

Emran Hashmi is an Indian films actor who is often known by his name “Serial Kisser.” Emran’s films are mostly appreciated for having catchy soundtracks.

Hashmi was born to a Muslim father Anwar Hashmi and a Roman catholic mother Maherahh Hashmi in Mumbai. Hashmi have many family members which also belong to the film industry. His cousin Pooja Bhatt was also a well known actress at her time While his uncles Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt are film Producers collaborating with whom he has done several hit films. Imran studied graphics and animation from Sydenham College in Mumbai.

Emran started his film journey with a supporting role in Footpath (2003) which was a commercial failure. He then starred opposite Malika Sherawat in Murder (2004), a thriller which went on to become a super hit at the box office. After Murder he gained considerable popularity with in no time. He then did many moderately successful films like Zeher, Aashiq Banaya Apne and Kalyug. Zeher was absed on Hollywood’s Out of Time while Aashiq Banaaya Aapne was about love and friendship the soundtracks of all the three films became popular and were well received by Emran’s fans. His film Gangster (2006) was a semi-hit and was rumored to be based on the relationship between Monica Bedi and Abu Salem. He was praised by critics for his acting in Gangster. His next two films that year were Aksar and The Killer which were declared as box office failures. His first film in 2007 was Good Boy Bad Boy which didn’t do well at the box office. His next release The Train was also a flop however his last film that year Awarapan was a critical success and a did moderately well at the box office. In 2008 he did only one film Jannat in which he played Arjun involved in a healthy dose of love and crime opposite debutant Sonal Chauhan. The film had a 100% opening and was a super hit. The film was even appreciated commercially. He then starred as the perfect Prithvi, a painter in the horror flick Raaz- The Mystrey Continues, the film was a box office success. His next film Tum Mile opened to mix reviews and was rated as a failure. In 2010 he was seen in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai which was critically and commercially well received. Hashmi’s performance was also appreciated by critics. He then did Madhur Bhandarker’s Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji along with OUATM co-star Ajay Devgn. The film was a moderate success. Later in 2011 he starred in Mohit Suri’s Murder2, a sequel to his 2004 hit Murder. The film was highly received by the audiences and was rated as a blockbuster.

Hashmi’s most awaited films are Raftaar 24x7, The Dirty Picture, Jannat 2, Raaz 3D and Shanghai. Among them The Dirty Picture is one of the most awaited films of 2011 which is going to be released on December 2^nd. He is also in talks with Bollywoods one of the best directors Vishal Bhardwaj for his next project Daayan in which the director is keen to cast down actress Rani Mukerji opposite Imran.

On 14 December 2006 Imran married his long time girlfriend Parveen Shahani. On 4 February 2010 he became father to a baby boy and named him Ayaan.

Kareena Kapoor as an actress

Ever since Kareena Kapoor entered in the World of cinema she is constantly making news for her flawless acting skills. Here we have a sneak peak on Bebo’s (lovingly called by her close ones) carrier graph as an actress.

Kareena was born a star as she says acting is in her blood she just proved it through her very first film Refugee (2000). The bold beauty unlike other star sons and daughters took decision of her arrival in B-Town through offbeat cinema which clearly went in her favor as she got all the best debutant awards that year including her Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutant.

Her first hit was Mujhy Kuch Kehna Hai (2001) in which she shined in a girl next door role. She was first time highly praised for playing princess Kaurwaki in Ashoka opposite Shahrukh Khan that is the reason why she was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She was again noticed by playing glamorous “Poo” in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001) which became highest grosser of that year. Kapoor’s performance was adorable and was described as one of the main highlights of the film. She was specially praised for her styling. This film earned Kapoor a nomination of Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.

During 2002-2003 Kareena was seen in six films all of them were proved duds at the box office. Her performances were also criticized by the reviewers as they reviewed that she was becoming typecast and her performances were unconvincing and repetitive.

After much criticism on her professional life she then started taking interest in more serious roles and accepted an offer of essaying a character of prostitute in Chameli (2004) which later proved a turning point in her carrier. Upon the release of film, both Kapoor’s performance and film received huge positive response by critics stating her “intuitive brilliance” and also that she has exceeded all expectations and she won a Filmfare Special Performance Award. In her next film Yuva (2004) her performance as Mira was accepted critically. She then starred alongside Amitabh Bachan in critically acclaimed film Dev (2004) as a young Muslim woman “Aaliya” for which she received a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She also got positive reviews for playing a negative role for the first time in Fida (2004) during the filming of which she and co-star Shahid Kapoor started dating each other. She then starred in some hits and flops in 2005. For her acting in Kyun Ki she again garnered critical acclaim with the BBC reporting that she is “[…] a pure natural when it comes to acting”. Her Shakespearean character of Desdemona (Dolly Mishra) in Omkara (2006) became the highlight of the film earning her fourth Filmfare Award.

She then was seen as the vivacious “Geet Dhilon” in super hit Jab We Met (2007). Her power pack performance was so convincing that she grabbed all the best actress awards that year including Filmfare Award and she got a status of one of the few best actresses in business.

Post Jab We Met, Bebo was praised almost in every film of hers. She got nominated in several award functions for films like Kurbaan, 3Idiots, We Are Family and Golmaal3 and also won many of them. In her last release Bodyguard (2011) she was again applauded for her work.

She’ll soon be seen doing much performance oriented roles in her upcoming flicks Dhuan, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai sequel and much talked about film Heroine.

is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood films. He is also a trained dancer.Shahid Kapoor was born on February 25, 1981 in Mumbai, India. His father Pankaj Kapoor was an actor and his mother Neelima Azeem was an actress and classical dancer.

He spent the greater part of his life with his mother, but he also had a great relationship with his father and stepmother Supriya Pathak. Shahid has two siblings, a sister Sana and a brother Ishaan Kapoor. His brother is also an actor; the two starred in the film ˜Vaah! Life Ho to Aisiâ together.

Shahid Kapoor began his theater life career starring in music videos and commercials. One of his most noted commercials was an ad for Pepsi, which featured Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji.

After this, Shahid decided to join the Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts. He made his debut in 1999 in the film â€˜Taalâ€™ as a background dancer. Shahid would have to wait until 2003 for his first most important role, but it was well attraction the wait.

From 2004 to 2007 Shahid Kapoor dated fellow Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor. The two have since separated but stay on good terms.

Four years later, he made his first appearance as a lead in Ishq Vishk (2003) and won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for his presentation. Following through with films like Fida (2004) and Shikhar (2005), he had his first commercial success with Sooraj R. Barjatya's Vivah (2006), and followed it up with Jab We Met (2007) and Kaminey (2009) which are also his biggest commercial successes so far.

In 2010, Kapoor appeared in Ken Ghosh's film Chance Pe Dance opposite Genelia D'Souza, As of April 2010, Kapoor has completed filming for Satish Kaushik's Milenge Milenge, which released on July 9, 2010.

Bollywood’s excitedly awaited film, Mausam starring Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor is all set to release next month, but before that, the team has thought of some pioneering ideas as to how to promote the film.
