On set photo of Judi Dench as M in new Bond film, 'Skyfall'

An official set photo  of Judi Dench (with director Sam Mendes) from the new James Bond film, Sam Mendes' Skyfall, has been released via 007′s official Facebook page. The film also stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ben Chaplin, Berenice Marlohe, Helen McCroy, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes.  Skyfall opens November 9th.

Skyfall official synopsis:
Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time.  In Skyfall,Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back tohaunt her.  As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroythe threat, no matter how personal the cost.

On Monday, the actress released a statement, thanking fans for their "concern" but also clarifying her situation slightly.

"In response to the numerous articles in the media concerning my eye condition – ma...culardegeneration – I do not wish for this to be overblown," she says. "Thiscondition is something that thousands and thousands of people all overthe world are having to contend with, and it's something that I havelearnt to cope with and adapt to – and it will not lead to blindness."

Judi Dench, , and co-stars (sans Maggie Smith) attended the World Premiere of  their new film, 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' at The Curzon Mayfair on February 7, 2012 in London, England.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel starring (Skyfall), Bill Nighy (Wrath of the Titans), (Downton Abbey), Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey), Tom Wilkinson (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), Celia Imrie (Titanic 2012), and Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire). Directed by John Madden (Shakespeare In Love) and based on a British best-seller from “Tulip Fever” author and “Pride & Prejudice” screenwriter Deborah Moggach, the film boasts a lineup of veteran actors with a story centering around an entrepreneurial Indian executive who decides to start up a first-rate home for elderly British retirees.

 Opens in UK Cinema February 17th and US Theaters May 4th!

Photos | Videos: Judi Dench at new Bond 23 film's Skyfall Press Conference and Photocall

Judi Dench (M) and Daniel Craig (James Bond) attended a photocall and press conference with fellow cast members (Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, and Naomie Harris) and filmmakers (director Sam Mendes, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli) to mark the start of production which is due to commence on the 23rd Bond Film and announced the title of the new Bond film as "Skyfall" (which will be a stand-alone film and is not connected to the previous two Bond films or any existing properties) at Massimo Restaurant & Oyster Bar this morning in London, United Kingdom.   

The official Bond twitter account, @007, have revealed the first synopsis for the film, which is: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.” Sounds like there's a bigger role for Judi Dench, as Bond’s superior M. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, and Ben WhishawSkyfall is due out November 9, 2012.

EON PRODUCTIONS, METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER STUDIOS AND SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE 7th NOVEMBER IS START OF PRODUCTION FOR 23rd JAMES BOND FILM “SKYFALL”


LONDON, UK, November 3rd, 2011 – Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today presented the cast of the 23rd James Bond adventure, entitled SKYFALL The film, from Albert R. Broccoli’s Eon Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, is directed by Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, who returns for his third film as James Bond 007.  The screenplay is written by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan.  SKYFALL, which goes into production on Monday, November 7th, will begin its worldwide roll-out in the UK and Ireland on October 26th 2012 and in North America on November 9th 2012.

Joining Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Director Sam Mendes were members of the cast of SKYFALL, including: Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe. The filmmakers also announced Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw.

“We’re so delighted to have Sam Mendes direct SKYFALL and be working once again with Daniel Craig.   We’ve a great script, an extraordinary cast and an incredibly talented creative team for this latest James Bond adventure,” said Wilson and Broccoli.
The Director of Photography is Roger Deakins, a nine-time Oscar® nominee who previously shot the films Jarhead and Revolutionary Road for Mendes.  The Production Designer is Oscar® winner Dennis Gassner, who previously designed Quantum of Solace and collaborated with Mendes on the films Road to Perdition and Jarhead.  The Editor is Stuart Baird, A.C.E., whose many credits include Casino Royale.  Jany Temime, whose many credits include the Harry Potter series, In Bruges, and Children of Men, is the Costume Designer. Action specialist Alexander Witt is the 2nd Unit Director.   Gary Powell is Stunt Co-ordinator, Chris Corbould is SFX Supervisor and Steve Begg is Visual Effects Supervisor, all of whom have worked on previous Bond films.
