Why do I find it so obvious, so "Of course they do!", to read that Charlie Day and Joe Pesci share a birthday? Of course they do! Ya know? Shouty little angry people unite! Anyway that day is today so a happy birthday to both of them wise guys but specifically to It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia's Charlie Day, seen in his little man briefs enjoying his Cocoa Puffs and Hitler hat above. Love you, Charlie!

Strangely just yesterday I was reading what Mr. Day had to say about my other favorite Charlie, Charlie Hunnam, who's his co-star in Guillermo Del Toro's giant monster movie Pacific Rim (along with the just-posted-on Idris Elba). Here's Charlie on Charlie:

"I've never seen Sons of Anarchy. Charlie Hunnam? Has he done anything? I've seen Green Street Hooligans. I love that movie...(But) I think if I walked into a bar in Rhode Island with him, no one would know who he is. I haven't seen Charlie Hunnam do very much."

Oh that incorrigible lil' rascal. (I hope they make out.) I should note here since I made a spectacle of the name Idris Elba character's name has in Pacific Rim (Stacker Penecost!), that Charlie Day's character's name in Pacific Rim is "Newt Gotlieb." And now that I'm looking, Charlie Hunnam's name is "Raleigh Antrobus"!!! Newt Gotlieb and Raleigh Antrobus and Stacker Penecost, just hanging out, chillin', fighting some giant monsters, no big whoop. Good lord. I mean... somebody had some fun coming up with these character's names.

I popped in Curtis Hanson's masterpiece Wonder Boys into the DVD player the other night, as I am prone to do every few months - if I were going to make a list of my favorite films of all-time, this movie would have a lofty place on it; it wraps me up all warm-like and makes me feel wonderful like few others - but this time I noticed something I never had before. Namely, Mac!

Rob McElhenney from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, that is. Right there beside Katie (oh Katie, why have you done this to yourself?), momentarily looking right into the camera like a rank amateur. Come on, Rob, this was your third movie - I mean, you'd just finished up playing "Teenager On Property" in the thrill-less John Travolta legal-thriller A Civil Action (wow, nobody remembered that existed, did they?). You're a professional now. Behave.
