A Not-so-new but in Hi-Res Photo of Keira Knightley as Anna Karenina

IMDb has added two not-so-new hi-resolution production stills of Joe Wright's upcoming film Anna Karenina starring Pride & Prejudice stars Keira Knightley (as the title role Anna Karenina | – ©IMDb) and Matthew Macfadyen (as Oblonsky, Anna's brother) We've seen these stills before of Keira Knightley as Anna Karenina and Aaron Johnson as Count Vronsky, but they were previously in magazine scans (from UK's Daily Mail and Empire Magazine), which were not in hi-res images until now (which I must say Keira looks even more gorgeous when you click the image to enlarge). I first posted the KK/AK still here: First Look: Keira knightley as Anna Karenina in 'Anna Karenina' film. Still no MM photo as Oblonsky! Hopefully, soon along with the first trailer...

Anna Karenina (which appears to be doing the same theatrical release date strategy as Pride & Prejudice back in 2005, with its UK release date of Sept 16th and US release date of Nov. 11th [limited] and November 23rd [wide]) opens in UK Cinemas on September 7th and two months later in the US (in select theaters) November 9th (and will possibly go in wide release soon after or in the following weeks). Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly MacDonald, Olivia Williams, Emily Watson, Ruth Wilson, Dohmnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, and Michelle Dockery also star.

First photo of Matthew Macfadyen in 'Ripper Street' to premiere this fall as part of BBC America's Dramaville series!

We’re excited to be involved in such an ambitious production with Tiger Aspect and Lookout Point.”
Tiger Aspect's Head of Drama Greg Brenman added, "We are so excited to have started production and be seeing these glorious scripts by Richard Warlow come to life. Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly Macdonald, Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and Ruth Wilson also star in the adaptation of Anna Karenina, directed by Joe Wright (Hanna/Atonement/Pride & Prejudice).

Here’s the official synopsis:

The third collaboration of Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley with director Joe Wright, following the award-winning box office successes “Pride & Prejudice” and “Atonement,” is the epic love story “Anna Karenina,” adapted from Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel by Academy Award winner Tom Stoppard (“Shakespeare in Love”). The story unfolds in its original late-19th-century Russia high-society setting and powerfully explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna (Knightley) questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.

New image of Keira Knightley as Anna Karenina

Another new still (via Desktop Nexus) of Keira Knightley (above ^ as Anna Karenina) has emerged online from her upcoming new Joe Wright directed film, Anna Karenina. Keira leads the impressive AK cast with former Pride & Prejudice co-star Matthew Macfadyen, (who will be playing her brother in the film), Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly MacDonald, Olivia Williams, and Michelle Dockery to name some.

Once again, there's still no Matthew photo released (to share here, unfortunately) nor a US theatrical release date for this film has been announced as of yet. Focus Features is taking their sweet time and killing us with a long wait here (esp. for the first MM photo), lol. Come on, they need to focus and get started with the buzz and marketing of this film already...

Speaking of buzz, a few entertainment/film blogs have already started an early Oscar buzz for Keira and the film (knock on wood!) in 2013....

Must-See Movies 2012 starring Austen Actors

All these Austen Actors (from various and  6 different Austen adapted TV and films: Pride & Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Mansfield Park, Persuasion, and Northanger Abbey as well as other Austen inspired films: Becoming Jane, The Jane Austen Book Club, Lost In Austen, From Prada to Nada, etc.) all have new movies coming out this year. Usually, I would just post about the Must-See TV & films starring P&P (2005) Actors (as after all, this blog is all about them and the P&P movie I love so much) but I like most of these other Austen Actors (ie. Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, James McAvoy, Kate Winslet, Hugh Dancy, etc.) too. They are Austen related after all, and  being a big movie aficionado that I am, I couldn't help but notice that a lot of Austen Actors are in so many new films coming out this year (even in the past and previous years). I always see trailers and TV spots whenever I watch a movie in theaters or on TV and online, and there's always at least one (or two) Austen actor starring or co-starring in a film or television show. So, I thought I'd (try to) compile here a list of AA actors with new films or TV Movies/mini-series that they're starring/co-starring that are coming out this year.

Here's a very long list starting with films (starring/co-starring our favorite Austen Actors) currently showing in theaters now (for instance, a well-known Austen actor co-stars in the current #1 film at the box-office in America, Contraband with Mark Wahlberg and has a new movie, Underworld: Awakening (Updated 1/22/12: Weekend Box Office – UNDERWORLD AWAKENING Leads with $25.4 Million via Collider) opening in theaters today as well...) to films coming out soon and are scheduled to be released every month of this year (except for October...though release dates are subject to change).
