Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Stanley: Man, liquor goes fast in the hot weather.
You want a shot?
Blanche: No, I rarely touch it.
Stanley: Well there's some people that rarely touch it,
but it touches them often.

Happy 101 years of Tennessee Williams!

Vanessa: He had this disease, called,
um, Wisenheimers, I think. You know,
where your brain cells run out into your pee.

Happy 36, Reese.

Ferris: I do have a test today, that wasn't bullshit. It's on European socialism. What's the point? I'm not European, so who gives a crap if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists, it still wouldn't buy me a car. It's not that I condone fascism, or any "ism." A person should not believe in an "ism," he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon: "I don't believe in Beatles I just believe in me." A good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the Walrus and I'd still have to bum rides off people.

A happy 50th birthday to Matthew Broderick.
Today really should be a National Skipping Holiday.
Like skipping classes not skipping rope, I mean.

Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Manhattan (1979)

Mary: I was tired of submerging my identity
to a very brilliant, dominating man. He's a genius.
Isaac: Oh really - he was a genius, Helen's a genius
and Dennis is a genius. You know a lot of geniuses.
You should meet some stupid people once in a while,
you could learn something.

Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Scream 4 (2011)

Ghostface: I hear you like horror movies, Kirby. But do you like them as much as him? Forget watching Stab, instead you get to live it.
Kirby Reed: No. No, no, no, no. He's the expert. It's not me.
Ghostface: Warm up question: Jason's weapon?
Kirby: Uh, it's a machete.
Ghostface: There. You see? You do know the genre. Michael Myers?
Kirby: Uh, butcher knife.
Ghostface: Leatherface?
Kirby: [crying] Chainsaw! Please!
Ghostface: Just ask Sidney if you need some help. Freddy Krueger?
Kirby: Razor-hands.
Ghostface: Name the movie that started the slasher craze: Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Last House on the Left or Psycho?
Kirby: Psycho.
Ghostface: None of the above! Peeping Tom, 1960, directed by Michael Powell. First movie to ever put the audience in the killer's POV.
Kirby: Wait. No, no, no. Please, just ask me one more question. Just one more.
Ghostface: Alright Kirby, then it's time for your last chance. Name the remake of the groundbreaking horror movie in which the vill...
Kirby: Halloween, uh, Texas Chainsaw, Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have Eyes, Amityville Horror, uh, Last House on the Left, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare On Elm Street, My Bloody Valentine, When A Stranger Calls, Prom Night, Black Christmas, House of Wax, The Fog, Piranha. It's one of those, right? Right? [silence] I got it right. I was fucking right.

Because I suck for not including Scream 4 on my Best Horror Movies of 2011 list  (a semi-explanation, still lame, for why I didn't is in the comments) here's a little love for easily the best part - Hayden Panettiere is SO GOOD in this movie.

Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Aaron: She lives in a trailer park.
Clearly she's disturbed. I mean, clearly.

The first episode of Wonderfalls, the series that renders the phrase "too short-lived" meaningless, aired eight years ago tonight. In a perfect world we'd be right smack-dab in the middle of the 8th season right now - where do you think Jaye would be? I think that by now she would have attained nirvana and led an army of cow-creamers and Buffalo Muffins into an epic battle across the savage plains of southern Canada. Or maybe at least she'd have gotten a better job.

Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

Blue (1993)

Julie Vignon: Now I have only one thing left to do: nothing.
I don't want any belongings, any memories.
No friends, no love. Those are all traps.

Happy 48 to my favorite actress and the world's best crier.

Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

The TV Set (2006)

Lenny: Sex will always beat disgusting foods.
But in a fight between sex and sex, the sexier show will win.

I sort of cheated with this one because technically it's not Sigourney saying it on-screen, but another character quoting her having said it, but whatever, her character was supposed to have said it. That's not the point! The point is that Siggy has just joined a television show! And it doesn't sound like it will be sexy or have disgusting foods! What was she thinking? Via EW:

"USA Network has landed feature film star Sigourney Weaver to headline its new drama series Political Animals.

The Aliens and Avatar actress stars in the Beltway-based drama playing a divorced former First Lady who becomes Secretary of State. She throws herself into the job after recovering from the dissolution of her marriage and losing the presidential nomination. It’s Weavers first regular TV series role.

USA has ordered six episodes of the project from producers Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters) and Laurence Mark (Jerry Maguire). James Wolk (Lonestar) plays Weaver’s son, an ambitious politico who is also her chief of staff."

So basically it's another Commander in Chief, that Geena Davis show, riffing on Hillary Clinton. Also, it reminds us of Dave. Remember Dave? Aww Dave was so good. So I'm fine with Siggy doing a show because if there's one thing my life needs, it's more Siggy. And if there's two things my life needs, it's more James Wolk without a shirt.

I Am Tom Hardy's Oral Fixation

.

In the immortal words of Cher Horowitz, "Anything you can do to draw attention to your mouth is good." Especially if you've got Tom Hardy's mouth. And while he's at it he can throw some nudity in there at the same time. Even better.
