According to UK's BBC News, the National Theatre's production of Shakespeare's A Comedy of Errors has opened to positive reviews in London.
Making its own error, the theatre's programme partnered one character with the wrong husband - just as the character mistakenly does on stage.

In the play, Adriana's husband is Antipholus of Ephesus. According to the programme, she was married to his twin brother Antipholus of Syracuse.
The error mirrors scenes where Adriana mistakes Syracuse for her husband.
Also, a writing in The Telegraph, Charles Spencer said Henry "once again impresses" adding: "Cooke and his fine company achieve the transition from ribald humour to something deeper and truly heartfelt with grace".
Adriana mistakes Antipholus of Syracuse for her husband in the play.He also praised Claudie Blakley, who plays Adriana, for "a delightful comic turn".

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts presents the fifth High Definition screening of this season’s National Theatre Live series, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, written by William Shakespeare, directed by Dominic Cooke with Lenny Henry as Antipholus of Syracuse on SUNDAY, MARCH 18 at 2pm at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd. in La Mirada.

Two sets of twins separated at birth collide in the same city without meeting for one crazy day, as multiple mistaken identities lead to confusion on a grand scale. And for no one more so than Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant Dromio who, in search of their brothers, arrive in a land entirely foreign to their distant home. A buzzing metropolis, to the outsiders it appears a place of wonderment and terror, where baffling gifts and unexplained hostilities abound. Consistently recognized by strangers, the visitors question their very selves as the turmoil escalates. Meanwhile, Aegeon, father to the Antipholus twins, has been captured searching for his sons and, as an illegal immigrant, is sentenced to death at sunset.

The cast of THE COMEDY OF ERRORS also includes Marcus Adolphy, Tom Anderson, Paul Bentall, Claudie Blakley, Ian Burfield, Silas Carson, Clare Cathcart, Adrian Hood, Chris Jarman, Lucian Msamati, Yvonne Newman, Pamela Nomvete, Rhiannon Oliver, Jude Owusu, Simon Parish, Daniel Poyser, Grace Thurgood, Amit Shah, Michelle Terry, Everal A Walsh and Rene Zagger. The production is designed by Bunny Christie, with lighting by Paule Constable, music by Gary Yershon, movement by Ann Yee, sound by Christopher Shutt and fight direction by Kate Waters.

NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE performances are filmed live in high definition and broadcast via satellite to over 700 cinemas around the world, live in Europe and time delayed in the US and Canada, and delayed screenings in countries further afield. There are over 120 venues in the UK alongside venues in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, India, Scandinavia and Europe. The performances at the National are nominated in advance to allow cameras greater freedom in the auditorium.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Read full article here!

New images of Rupert Friend in upcoming 'Renee' film

The upcoming indie film, Renee starring Kat Dennings (in the title role), Chad Michael Murray and Rupert Friend (as producer David McKenna) just launched its official site yesterday (Wednesday). The website looks great with lots of images (including on set and behind the scenes photos featuring RF in a few of them, which you can see below...) and cool contents to get you interested in the film.

"Renee" The Movie, was filmed entirely on location in Orlando, Florida. The indie drama is based on the true story of Renee Yohe, whose battle with drugs, depression, addiction and cutting led to the creation of the charity group To Write Love On Her Arms.
The movie is about a troubled young woman whose issues with self-esteem, substance abuse and self-injury (“cutting”) will star the formidable Kat Dennings, with Chad Michael Murray and Rupert Friend (“The Young Victoria”) also int the cast.
The film is slated for a 2012 release, but no theatrical release date has been announced yet.

No trailer yet either, but in the meantime, check out and watch the Behind The Scenes: The Music in the Movie "Renee" (which includes Rupert in one of the cast and crew interviews where he appeared a couple times at around 3:37 and 5:03) as well as on set, behind the scenes, and a still of Rupert as David McKenna. Plus the film's synopsis and more below! ...

Also, watch "Renee" Character Profile: Kat Dennings on playing 'Renee Yohe'  (featuring a few clips from the film, which features RF as McKenna) and see another bts video as I've previously posted here: Watch Behind The Scenes: A First Look into 'Renee' the Movie starring Kat Dennings and Rupert Friend

Official Synopsis
Renee” follows 19-year-old Renee Yohe (Kat Dennings) who has always loved fairy tales: the idea of a princess, a hero and a happily ever after. But Renee’s life is that of a darker tale: she’s a young woman battling addiction, depression and self-injury. In a creative blend of artistic fantasy balanced with harsh reality, the film follows Renee on her courageous journey towards recovery. The true story behind “Renee” is responsible for inspiring the global non-profit To Write Love on Her Arms.

Here's a press release (sent to me via email from Ashley Slone, Press & Promotions at Bonded Entertainment. Thanks!)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Upcoming Rupert Friend Film, "Renee," Launches New Site Using Emerging “3D-Illusion” Web Design Trend
ORLANDO, FL (February 16, 2012) - The upcoming independent film "Renee," starring Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girl$, Thor), Rupert Friend (Pride & Prejudice), Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill) and Corbin Bleu (High School Musical), launched its new Web site today, which utilizes an emerging “3D-illusion” trend in Web design.

"Renee" is at the forefront of film sites to implement horizontal parallax scrolling, which gives the site a “pseudo-3D” effect. This technique enables multiple backgrounds to move at different speeds, increasing the viewer’s sense of depth in the design and creating more engaging content.

On the new visually intriguing “Renee” site, fans can scroll through several scenes from the film, including one where Dennings crowd surfs across the screen.

About "Renee"
"Renee” is an independent feature film produced by Two Streets Entertainment. "Renee," based on the true story that inspired the global non-profit movement To Write Love on Her Arms, was filmed in Orlando, FL in Spring 2011 and is anticipated for release in 2012.

Keira Knightley not in 'Cosmopolis' with Robert Pattinson; 'The Children's Hour' News and Review

According to Up and Comers, Keira Knightley will NOT be co-starring with Twilight's Robert Pattinson in his upcoming film, Cosmopolis (as previously rumored and posted here), which will be directed by David Cronenberg who just directed Keira in her upcoming film, A Dangerous Method.

EXCLUSIVE: Keira Knightley will not be in “Cosmopolis” with Robert Pattinson
Keira Knightley will not be appearing in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis”, the actress’s reps confirmed to us today. Knightley was brought into the casting conversation following some eagle-eyed fans seeing her name listed alongside star Robert Pattinson’s on the production company’s website. When the internet exploded with the news, her name was quickly removed and her reps declined to comment on her involvement until today, with a solid “she’s not in it”.

Knightley is currently on the West End stage in a production of “The Children’s Hour”, in which she plays a 1930s schoolteacher who is accused of having a lesbian love affair with a fellow faculty member. She was last seen in the criminally underrated “Never Let Me Go” with Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield and will next be seen on screen in “A Dangerous Method”, another Cronenberg directorial feature.
Speaking of Keira Knightley, here are a few recent KK The Children's Hour Review and related articles...

Keira Knightley has the equally challenging task of making Karen more than the cipher she first appears. But she is excellent in her climactic encounter with her fiance, well played by Tobias Menzies, when her lean, elegant frame suddenly seems rigid with physical anguish. And, when she claims "everything I say to you is made to mean something else", Knightley radiates a lonely despair.

Stars come out for Knightley play
Hollywood star Danny DeVito, filmmaker Gurinder Chadha and actress Miriam Margolyes were among the crowd who turned out to see Keira Knightley in the opening night of West End play The Children's Hour.

Chadha, who launched Knightley's film career by casting her in comedy Bend It Like Beckham, was one of the many audience members to give the cast a standing ovation.

"I thought it was very powerful, I'm a bit overcome. I'm so proud of Keira," she said after the performance.

Tribeca and Miramax Team on Acquiring Last Night, Starring Keira Knightley

Tribeca Film and Miramax Films have made a U.S. distribution deal for relationship drama Last Night (pictured), starring Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet.
