Yes, I am so single-minded that I can look through the applied filth and ratty beard and prisoner rags and find a little sexy to appreciate. As soon as he starts singing I'm gonna lose my boner though. Dealbreaker!

--- Space Ghost - I personally will not be reading this - as I said the other day with the new Prometheus trailer I've reached my saturation point until the movie's out now - but AICN chatted with Ridley Scott and writer Damon Lindelof about the film the other day. And io9 picked apart that most recent trailer pretty thoroughly.

--- Hark An Ark - Darren Aronofsky's Noah movie will start filming in July, with Aussie tugger Russell Crowe as the bearded boatman.

--- So Fetch - I love this article by Michael at The Film Experience asking what the new movie quotes we live by are. I always go blank whenever asked these questions, but since I watched Muriel's Wedding for the ten billionth time the other night let me just add "You're terrible, Muriel" and "What a bunch of cocksuckers!" to the list. Okay maybe it's just me who says these things all the time. Oooh or what about "Three o'clock. You get raped. Be there." Love that one. So handy.

--- Dork Shadows - DH gathered together some of the new posters and art-work for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, and can I just say that I went into the trailer for the movie with everybody screaming about how it was a yawning abyss of despair and... I didn't hate it? I felt disgusting afterwards that I didn't hate it, but I actually even laughed a couple of times. At Johnny Depp, and at that girl I don't talk about. I am just disgusting.

--- And finally Twitch just alerted me to the fact that the Museum of Art and Design here in NYC will be doing an Argento family set of screenings over the next three months, celebrating Dario and his kids Claudio and Asia's films. Heaps of giallo on a (reasonably) big screen! Sign me up! (The old stuff of course - don't see anything Dario's made in the last twenty years.)

--- Young Girl - The female lead opposite Josh Brolin in Spike Lee's remake of Oldboy has been offered to Martha Marcy May Marlene star Elizabeth Olsen. I think this is terrific casting because my instinctual feeling upon hearing her name was a protective wince over what she'll have to endure, and that's about right.

--- Golden Globs - If you were following me on Twitter during the Oscars then you know I found the evening fairly abysmal - somebody send Billy Crystal to the glue factory, please - but instead of all my negativity why don't you take a gander at the ten things Nathaniel found interesting about the evening. Emma Stone totally was awesome.

--- High Octane - Kristen Wiig is going to star in an action-comedy from the writers of The Descendants. You know the ones - they stood behind a rambling egomaniac Alexander Payne and made fun of Angelina Jolie's leg. Yeah the one is the dean on Community, who I have a sudden crush on. That's them.

--- Hunger Olds - There are a couple new pictures from The Hunger Games over here, with new looks at Donald Sutherland as President Snow and Toby jones as Claudius Templesmith. Have we seen Toby Jones yet? And a better question: who the fuck is Claudius Templesmith? I can't remember. Should I go back and read the books? It's been quite awhile. It's probably better not to, see if I can finagle some surprise from it.

--- Eating Crowe - Seeing this news this morning that Russell Crowe is pretty much for sure going to play Noah in Darren Aronofsky's movie about the man who built that really big boat that one time, I'm reminded that I had a dream the night before last in which I saw new paparazzi pictures of Russell Crowe and he was looking hotter than he's ever looked. (Yes, these are the dreams I have now apparently.) I've never really been wild about Crowe but in my dream he looked very very good, like somebody had whittled him into an ideal form of what he could be. So, being reminded of this, I googled to see what he looks like now, and nope, he's still just him. 

--- Busted - While I'd love to have a third Ghostbusters movie with the old crew around one more time, I am tired as hell of hearing Dan Akyroyd go back and forth and back and forth about what's up with Bill Murray, so I hope his new quote about Murray absolutely not wanting to do it the end, is the end.

--- And finally, Fassy fans this is your chance to put your mouth where his eyes are (so to speak) - head over to Fassinating Fassbender and send Simone a note before March 15th and she'll include it on a birthday present they're gearing up to send the man for his upcoming 35th birthday. And keep it classy, folks. (That means limit the wang mentions to subtle innuendo at most.)

Noah Springs A Leak

Saw this news last night and was hoping I would make up today and it all would've been a terrible dream, but alas they keep yammering about it being the truth - apparently the rumor that Michael Fassbender would play Noah for Darren Aronofsky's movie about the man who built the big boat was only a rumor and the new rumor but probably more than a rumor is that Darren really wants Russell Crowe to play the part. Sigh. SIGH. Sigh. They do know that this is all any of us will be thinking of, right?

--- Hot Vamp - Finally some official confirmation of Jim Jarmusch's vampire movie with Tilda Swinton! Hooray! Not so hooray - unlike when we first heard about this movie, it doesn't look like Michael Fassbender's attached anymore. Boo. Okay, but he is being replaced with the awesome Tom Hiddleston, so hooray again! Mia Wasikowska's in there too, plus John Hurt. The thing is called Only Lovers Left Alive, which is a gorgeous title.

--- Setting Sail - Cinematographer Matthew Libatique says that Darren Aronofsky's Noah movie will start shooting in July, for a Fall 2013 release. Fingers crossed. And toes crossed that it's Michael Fassbender taking on the lead role!

--- And speaking of Fassy again, Brad Pitt told THR (via The Playlist) that his role in Steve McQueen's Twelve Years a Slave is a small one, a cameo, but that Fassy's role is a big one. This is helpful because until now we really had no idea how big a part anybody but Chiwetol Ejiofor had in the lead. More Fassy = good.

--- My Martha - Over at Stale Popcorn Glenn's praise-riddled review of Martha Marcy May Marlene worked me into a lather of "must see it again right this second" if only it were out on DVD already. It really seems like it should be by now, but it ain't out until February 21st. It should have come out sooner, maybe it could've rebuilt some buzz and gotten the Oscar nominations it deserved. Not that I can pretend to know how these things works. I mean, I can. I just did. Anyway. It is an excellent film, I concur!

--- Bagged A Baggins - I haven't really been too thorough keeping up with Hobbit news - at this point it's inevitable I'll be seeing the movie opening weekend, so dipping too deeply into all the pre-release stuff is only going to muddy that first viewing experience so it seems pointless, to me. But here's a new picture of Martin Freeman as Bilbo anyway, in case you don't feel that way.

--- Winter Folk - If you want to see the first real trailer for the second season of A Game of Thrones, click on over to EW to watch it. I watched it last night and when Dany starts getting all assertive-like I may have gotten erect.

--- Getting Stranger - The director of The Strangers, Bryan Bertino, is finally starting work on his second film - it's called Mockingbird, and it's a found footage flick about a couple that receive a video camera with the instructions to do as told or somebody dies. So kind of Saw meets The Strangers? Anyway he's talented and we were sick of waiting for him to do something new, so yay.

--- Mia May I - I need to thank Adam at Club Silencio for this week's banner from Rosemary's Baby - I stole the image from one of his invaluable Obscure Beauty posts. So lovely.

--- Loony Rooney - The world has made it clear to Blake Lively that we'd rather just say no, thanks very much, right? That's what this news of her getting replaced by Rooney Mara in Steven Soderbergh's next move called The Side Effects, about a drugged-up girl and co-starring Channing Tatum (I'm starting to think SS and Chan are an item) and Jude Law, should be telling her right? Let's hope so. Yay Rooney! And by the way, I know this shocks none of you, but the more stand-offish and weird and annoying things that spill out of Mara's mouth, the more I like her.

Did y'all hear the news that Steven Spielberg's planning on making a movie about Moses' life? The whole thing of course, from the basket floating down the river to the old man wandering in the desert, all that jazz. Says DH:

"The tone is expected to be less Cecile B. De Mille and more Braveheart with Moses portrayed as one of history's great warriors. It will also be filmed with a gritty and realistic tone akin to Spielberg's own Saving Private Ryan."

Mkay. With this and Darren Aronofsky's Noah epic I guess the time has come for Bible stories. I want Sodom and Gomorrah: The Movie then! Anyway when I saw this news I figured I'd look up and see what actors have played Moses in the past that are named something other than Charlton Heston and that's how I stumbled upon the fact that beautiful Billy Campbell (you'll want to click that link) played him in this 2000 TV movie which I don't remember existing. Apparently neither does the world because I could find literally zero point zero zero pictures of him in the role online! WTF, internet? Fail. Somebody did upload the entire movie onto YouTube though (I don't know), so I dutifully scanned through it until I found him. But you wanna know what else I discovered while dutifully scanning through it?

Mmhmm. Eddie Cibrian plays some kind of slave boy and it appears as if he sexes his way to the top of the slave ladder. Okay again I was only fast-forwarding through it and I wasn't listening to the dialogue at all, so this is probably an entirely skewed version of the events, but hey, it's what we got. I mean come on. Everybody's eyeing Eddie like he's a sizzling slab of beef and they haven't eaten in a month.

Point being, religion ain't just bad stuff! It's also about hot guys spending all their time together without anything on under their robes. Never forget that.
